Candles are a Christmas tradition

Atise Sage Mosaic Soy Candle (Baby size) Fragrance: Australian Outback

Candles feature in many traditions, with the most obvious and well-known being birthdays, religious ceremonies and romantic dinners! Candles are often used as a symbol of the continuity of life, hope and love, and to ward off darkness.

In Jewish tradition, eight candles are lit at Chanukah, and some Christian wedding ceremonies include a Unity Candle to symbolise love and hope of a long life together for the newly weds.

Candles are often used for meditation or reflection of thought, as a memorial for or in remembrance of a loved one, to support a cause, or in prayer.  And of course candles are commonly featured in Christmas décor, table settings and carols by candlelight! Candles create the perfect ambience, and fragrance, for Christmas time.

Do candles feature in your Christmas traditions?
