Candles are a Christmas tradition

Atise Sage Mosaic Soy Candle (Baby size) Fragrance: Australian Outback

Candles feature in many traditions, with the most obvious and well-known being birthdays, religious ceremonies and romantic dinners! Candles are often used as a symbol of the continuity of life, hope and love, and to ward off darkness.

In Jewish tradition, eight candles are lit at Chanukah, and some Christian wedding ceremonies include a Unity Candle to symbolise love and hope of a long life together for the newly weds.

Candles are often used for meditation or reflection of thought, as a memorial for or in remembrance of a loved one, to support a cause, or in prayer.  And of course candles are commonly featured in Christmas décor, table settings and carols by candlelight! Candles create the perfect ambience, and fragrance, for Christmas time.

Do candles feature in your Christmas traditions?

atise supports 65 Roses Day.....

"65 Roses" comes from the folklore story of a little boy’s effort to pronounce his sister’s condition; Cystic Fibrosis. Instead he called it "65 Roses".

The rose is the national symbol of Cystic Fibrosis. Roses are often considered the ultimate expression of natural beauty, their magnificent bloom and fragrance, juxtaposed on a thorny stem, have captured imaginations for centuries. As a living thing roses can endure harsh conditions, but flourish with care and attention.

Many parallels can be drawn between the rose and a person with CF. The condition Cystic Fibrosis imposes harsh conditions on the lives of those who suffer with it, yet there is a resilience and charm about each person as a result of their struggle and connection with the beauty of life.

For these reasons the red rose has been adopted as the national symbol for Cystic Fibrosis in Australia.

Atise are proud supporters of 65 Roses Day in Australia and is active in raising awareness of Cystic Fibrosis throughout Australia and New Zealand.

We invite you to join us in our support by purchasing an ATISE Insta Candle with $3 from each sale going towards the cause in your relevant country. The Insta Candle is a fabulous way for children to be creative by making their own candle whilst helping a very worthy cause. See your Atise consultant today for further information and enjoy a rainy day with the kids doing something fun and worthwhile!

Atise supports EARTH HOUR and invites you to help us to make a difference by lighting an Atise natural candle.

Atise invites everyone to turn off their lights for one hour at 8:30pm on Saturday, 27th March 2010 – this is EARTH HOUR.

Not only will you make a difference, by lighting a candle instead of switching on the light, but you are also burning a natural candle.

We estimate that over 90% of all candles worldwide are made out of paraffin wax, a petroleum based product. Atise offers a natural alternative made from plant based wax - a renewable and sustainable option.

Make a difference on EARTH HOUR and light an earth friendly Atise candle.

Join our gentle revolution and spread the word about Atise - The Healthy Glow.

An Evening with Mary

Last week I was one of the lucky ones who spent an evening with Mary Christensen. At the Women and Leadership - A Perfect Match! seminar.

Mary was absolutely amazing, fully of inspiration, fun and energy. We listen to some great stories and had loads of laughs along the way. What also made this such a great event and time well spent was that Mary is so “down the earth” we got a massive injection of the realities of direct sales and party plan.

So girls and guys it is hard work and it’s a number game. There are no short cuts, you have to put in the effort and the work, you need to run with a fool proof process to ensure that you get your bookings and recruiting leads. The up side and this is big Ah Ha! it brings with it great rewards, loads of fun, copious amounts of self confidence, personal development and recognition.

What more could we want!
If you didn’t get to see Mary next time she is in town you have to go and see her!

What we learn:
Only 6% of women in the US earn more than $100,000 per year.
80% of them are direct sellers!
There is 43% of women in the workforce and only 3% in top job

The 7 skills that women have
1. Sharing – Sharing is great and we are all very good at it, however you need to know when to stop! We can tend to give away to much information.
2. Networking - we are truly in our comfort zone here. “Don’t be a predator”, make others feel good about themselves, this is not about YOU!
3. Mentoring – we love to nurture so coaching and mentoring our team is natural just dont be their mother!
4. Organise – we are so used to juggling loads of different things that being organised is one of our skills. Plan and build time into your day, week and month to work on your business!
5. Focus – Know where you are going and how you want to get there!
6. Multitasking – Set you goals and get the job done!
7. Belief – Believe in yourself and your business!
There is so much support and help out there for party plan you just need to tap into!
